The weekly astro-oracle is a theriomancic message:
Turkey Spirit

What is theriomancy? Theriomancy or zoomancy is a form of divination that involves observation of the appearance and behavior of wild animals. Common forms of theriomancy include ailuromancy, the study of cat movements, and augury, the study of bird formations. While augury appears to be more fixed than other systems of divination, with some sources going as far as to interpret the direction of the birds’ flight, calls, and times of day, individual animal totem or spirit animals also have rich symbolism, which can be accessed by tuning into the oversoul of the animal.
I asked Spirit, what do all those who frequent this page need to know this week to stay in alignment with the highest good? Then, while out for a walk, I rendezvoused with a gobble of five wild turkeys crossing the road, one male and four female. Turkey itself is full of rich prosperity-themed symbolism, while the number five numerologically-speaking is connected with change, but also resistance to change.
Proffering the potential for manifesting a rich reality, Turkey represents generosity and a celebration of abundance through giving to others. “Give freely without expectation and you shall receive,” writes oracle card extraordinaire Colette Baron-Reid; “Align with it by sharing your good fortune with others, whether you give money, loving guidance, the gift of listening, or kindness in any form.” By immersing ourselves in the generous flow of abundance, we align with the desire of Spirit to see all beings experience the blessing of plenty: “Give with gratitude and grace, from a wellspring of love and compassion, knowing that Spirit will respond by giving you all that you need in this moment and all moments to come!
INTERPRETATION
As we enter the week, the Piscean Stellium continues and we’re now officially in the pre-eclipse season. Another highlight of the week is the Sun’s ingress into Taurus, activating a second stellium in Taurus now. While the planets in Pisces may help us with emotional and spiritual release before the New Moon Solar eclipse on April 30, Turkey Spirit empowers us to work the earthy Taurean energies to our advantage by celebrating life and counting our blessings.
Monday, April 18, Mercury is conjunct Uranus in Taurus. Emphasizing the progressive, energetic, determined, unconventional, creative, inventive, and intuitive in us, astrosofa.com asserts we have a talent for speech, originality, adaptability, and an agile mindset. Going our own way and ignoring traditional views, our talent for discoveries and inventions comes to light, paving the way for sudden insights and epiphanies. “Something becomes clear,” says astrobutterfly.com; “there’s nothing ambiguous about Taurus. What you see is what you get!” Since the upcoming eclipse will also be conjunct Uranus in Taurus at the end of the month, keep note of what occurs today as it may become relevant again then! Also on this day, Venus is sextile Uranus. Receptive and responsive to love, and according to astrosofa.com and Turkey Spirit, even “muscular excitability,” we easily make new contacts, friends, and connections. Also fond of pleasures and outward appearances, during this influence we experience artistic appreciation and exhilaration.
With Venus, Mercury and Uranus joining forces, Peru adds that our self-worth and value are stimulated. “If you normally hold everything in and are unsure of how or when to speak up for yourself, then you may feel this influence more than most.” While our personality has been under pressure for the past few days with Mercury and Uranus' pull on personal planets within the Piscean Stellium, compassionate and harmonizing Venus encourages us to act with greater responsibility to the heart. Meanwhile, Peru and Turkey Spirit reminds us that there’s ample opportunity for authentic emotional expression—“the key under this influence is to honor your feelings, the language of within. Take your time… you’re being supported to let your truth flow, naturally.”
Just before the Sun moves into Taurus on Tuesday, April 19, it‘s tense square with Pluto in Capricorn may trigger rash, overbearing, or discordant behavior. Awakening our spirit of opposition, since astrosofa.com cautions against traffic accidents, be on the lookout for Turkey Spirit crossing the road! With the Sun now in Taurus, a Taurean Stellium also forms for the next 9 days with Mercury, Uranus, and the Moon’s Node Node. According to Peru “we’re being given a boost of reinforcing cosmic light that enables [us] to draw upon [our] latent energy reserves.” Indeed, just when we thought that we didn’t have the energy to face yet another challenge, we rise to the occasion!
We finish the week with two Mercury transits, one challenging and one favorable. The square between Mercury in Taurus and Saturn in Aquarius can make us greedy, suspicious, resentful, quarrelsome, and stubborn. Triggering conflict and separations among couples and families, astrosofa.com warns of “inhibitions in the mental-spiritual area.“ Meanwhile, Mercury’s sextile with Neptune in Pisces gives us keen intuition, refined mental sensation, expansive imagination, and a sense of poetry and art. With high hopes and beliefs, we could realize our goals and plans.
Encouraging us to overcome our resistance to change and responsibly tie up loose ends, Peru adds that Saturn urges us to stay open to exploring our options rather than restricting ourselves by being too closed off to our highest path. Continuing where Venus left off earlier this week in the cultivation of our sense of self-worth and value, the source and Turkey Spirit remind us that our impact is at its best and most meaningful “when [we’re] in coherence between heart and head; when [our] personality is taking fluid instruction from soul.” May we receive a delightful unfolding as the blessings rain down!
