The weekly astro-oracle is a theriomancic message:
Crow Spirit

What is theriomancy? Theriomancy or zoomancy is a form of divination that involves observation of the appearance and behavior of wild animals. Common forms of theriomancy include ailuromancy, the study of cat movements, and augury, the study of bird formations. While augury appears to be more fixed than other systems of divination, with some sources going as far as to interpret the direction of the birds’ flight, calls, and times of day, individual animal totem or spirit animals also have rich symbolism, which can be accessed by tuning into the oversoul of the animal.
I asked Spirit, what do all those who frequent this page need to know this week to stay in alignment with the highest good? Then I manifested several spirit animal messages from crow, including loud caws upon waking on several subsequent days, an oracle card draw, followed by the glimpse of one flying over telephone wires. Could this spirit animal messenger 'augur' forthcoming communication?
Often foretelling death in folklore, magic, and mythology, as reflected by their animal group name ‘murder,’ Crow Spirit may symbolize transformation, transition, and illusion. Since they are toolmakers they are also celebrated for their cleverness and mastery, with ancient augurs sanctifying them as messengers of the divine. Specifically, Energy Medicine Practitioner Alison J. Kay, PhD has also associated the spirit animal with activating one’s inner magic.
Colette Baron Reid adds that a visit from Crow Spirit confirms you are coming more and more into alignment with the manifestation of your dreams in the visible, material world. “[Universal] laws of Abundance, Compensation, Frequency, and Praise are all operating in your favor now. Remember to be grateful and praise what is yours, even if it is still coalescing into form, still residing in the invisible realms of co-creation” writes Baron-Reid. No matter what area of your life you’ve intended change, what you’ve asked for is on its way—for Spirit is your co-creative partner!
INTERPRETATION
As we enter week, the Moon is still in Capricorn right before the Aquarian New Moon, thus for a short period of time the Capricorn Stellium will be joined by a fifth planet. “A powerful combination of forces that serves to reinforce your ability to harness your creational powers,” according to Australian cosmologist Elizabeth Peru, “this [imbues] you with considerable resilience, stability and stamina.” The source and co-creative Crow Spirit empower us to use this wave of incoming light to further our 5D manifestations.
Meanwhile, auspiciously occurring at the top of the month, Tuesday, February 1, the New Moon in Aquarius blesses us with a fresh perspective. “An ideal period in which to shift your internal compass, particularly if you’ve longed to be more embracing and accepting of differences,” says Peru, “this particular New Moon has a light, almost euphoric feel to it.” Providing an opportunity to reset our intentions with renewed vitality, Crow Spirit invites us to (re)connect with our innermost desires and then act upon them. “Make them real by using the New Moon’s force to supercharge your projections,” the sources emphasize.
Conjunct Saturn and square Uranus, on a collective level this New Moon may reactivate some old themes from 2021 such as Covid restrictions, adds astrobutterfly.com. Indeed, the conjunction with Saturn can cause limitations, depression, melancholy, and malaise. “Inhibitions in love life could occur,” warns astrosofa.com; “with partnerships, we probably have no happy hand!” Meanwhile, when square Uranus in Taurus, the Moon amplifies our eccentric, headstrong, fanatic, over-the-top, irritable, and capricious natures. “Love could show quirks, intense sensuality, and abnormal tendencies,” the same source continues. With that said, thankfully this is the last lunation that features the dreaded Saturn-Uranus square. According to astrobutterfly.com, by March we will have much friendlier themes to work with moving forward.
Just after the New Moon’s activating co-creational energy, a significant numerological power day arrives. It’s the 2:2:22 Gateway or Portal. With five 2s featured in today’s date—and by later in the month, six 2s—according to Peru, we’re receiving an intensive reminder that we’re empathic and sensitive souls who can change the world by applying our gentle, compassionate and considerate approach! While five 2s add up to 10, which reduces to 1, the number of new beginnings and new cycles, the Gateway also marks the beginning of an important three-month shift with all the planets in forward motion, culminating in the Taurus Solar Eclipse on April 30. Active from 2/2 through 2/22, Marla Kelly of Twinstrology adds that the multidimensional quality of the portal reminds us that we are gathering momentum to make our dreams come true!
Thursday, February 3, Mercury goes direct in Capricorn. While its conjunction with Pluto won’t be exact until February 11, given that Mercury’s station is in orb to Pluto, the energy is already starting to build within the Capricorn Stellium. While Mercury direct brings movement and resolution to matters that got stuck during the three-week retrograde, on account of Pluto’s scrutiny, Crow Spirit and astrobutterfly.com caution that we’ll still want to be mindful and skillful in how we proceed at this time. Also on this day, Mars in Capricorn is sextile Jupiter in Pisces, producing strong vitality and well-being. According to astrosofa.com we exhibit enthusiasm, determined action, energy, entrepreneurial spirit, joie de vivre, and organizational talent. Also asserting a strong urge for independence during this two-day influence, professional success could arise. We make happy decisions in the emotional field!
As we enter the weekend, the post-shadow period of Mercury Retrograde gives us space to tie up loose ends; meanwhile, the Sun is conjunct Saturn in Aquarius on Saturday, February 5. A serious transit that will test our commitment to our vision, astrosofa.com adds that this “aspect of disability”could make us cold-hearted, stingy, and depressed throughout the next two days. Fortunately, since we only have one Sun-Saturn conjunction every year, however, it also marks a new beginning. Indeed, astrobutterfly.com explains that the transit provides an annual opportunity to birth a new Saturn project, which celebrates themes of hard work, commitment, and mastery.
Finally, on Sunday, February 6, Mars in Capricorn squares Chiron in Aries. A challenging aspect that will trigger our insecurities, causing us to feel inadequate or second-guess our actions, we may find it more difficult to assert ourselves. Of course, the wounded healer asteroid also presents the opportunity to transform these insecurities into a gift. Crow magic and astrobutterfly.com invite is to assert ourselves (Mars) with empathy, conscious of how our actions impact others.
