What is theriomancy? Theriomancy or zoomancy is a form of divination that involves observation of the appearance and behavior of wild animals. Common forms of theriomancy include ailuromancy, the study of cat movements, and augury, the study of bird formations. While augury appears to be more fixed than other systems of divination, with some sources going as far as to interpret the direction of the birds’ flight, calls, and times of day, individual animal totem or spirit animals also have rich symbolism, which can be accessed by tuning into the oversoul of the animal.

I asked Spirit, what do all those who frequent this page need to know this week to stay in alignment with the highest good? Then I heard started hearing a cacophony of crow caws. The next day, upon returning from my walk, I heard distinct caws coming from a treetop at house number 2222, a number associated with union and (co)partnership but also with overcoming duality.

Often foretelling death in folklore, magic, and mythology, as reflected by their animal group name ‘murder,’ Crow Spirit may symbolize transformation, transition, and illusion. Since they are toolmakers they are also celebrated for their cleverness and mastery, with ancient augurs sanctifying them as messengers of the divine. Specifically, Energy Medicine Practitioner Alison J. Kay, PhD has also associated the spirit animal with activating one’s inner magic.

Colette Baron Reid adds that a visit from Crow Spirit confirms you are coming more and more into alignment with the manifestation of your dreams in the visible, material world. “[Universal] laws of Abundance, Compensation, Frequency, and Praise are all operating in your favor now. Remember to be grateful and praise what is yours, even if it is still coalescing into form, still residing in the invisible realms of co-creation” writes Baron-Reid. INTERPRETATION

As the week begins, Australian cosmologist Elizabeth Peru points out that we’ve entered the lead-in to the second and final Eclipse Season of 2021. Beginning in just two weeks, already, energy has started to accelerate. “You can feel it,” emphasizes Peru; “If you’re like me, you’re busily preparing to wrap 2021 in your power, as you’re also setting the soul-driven foundations on your 2022.” Moreover, with only three planetary bodies remaining in retrograde, we’re being cosmically supported to break new ground and establish a higher life path at this time.

On Tuesday, October 26, the square between Venus in Sagittarius and Retrograding Neptune in Pisces is a romantic, distinctive, and original time in which we always have character in love. According to astrosofa.com, this two-day influence, however, may also be accompanied by an “urge for independence in love and [a] strange eroticism.” Peru adds that Venus is sending waves of high-vibrational light through Earth, activating many souls to apply their vast range of talents and skills. The message is clear, and that message, accentuated by Crow Spirit, is to slow down and bring the power back home to oneself. “Become aware if you’re allowing others to sap your life force,” advice the sources; “You have sovereign say over where you focus your light… Venus is encouraging you to stop procrastinating and to start elevating.”

Meanwhile, the sextile between Venus and Jupiter, starting Thursday, October 28, is a very favorable aspect. People-friendly, warm, graceful, idealistic, and lovable, we appreciate the finer things in life. Also a favorable constellation for love and marriage, during this two-day influence, we are very popular and have a harmonious relationship with others. Peru adds that the two planetary powerhouses draw attention to the "expression of our abundant soul." Under this cosmic light, it’s an opportune time to let go of old patterns, ensouling our personality to accept more of the spiritual grandeur of who we’ve become. According to the source and Crow Spirit, “intuition is heightened and insights can easily flow. Trust that all is unfolding in accordance with the higher path that fulfills your innermost desires.”

On Saturday, October 30, Mars joins the Sun in Scorpio, the sign of its domicile. “Mars is the planet of action, and Scorpio gives it the depth and drive to conduct this Martian impulse to achieve whatever we set our sights on!” asserts astrobutterfly.com. Meanwhile, the square between the Sun and Saturn in Aquarius this weekend may cause difficulties in our professional life. During this two-day influence, uncertainty and shyness may arise. Tending towards melancholy, limitations and obstacles in life could also emerge. Fortunately, the trine between Mercury in Libra and Jupiter on Sunday, October 31 gives us a cheerful and optimistic outlook for our Halloween celebrations.
