The weekly astro-oracle is a theriomancic message:

What is theriomancy? Theriomancy or zoomancy is a form of divination that involves observation of the appearance and behavior of wild animals. Common forms of theriomancy include ailuromancy, the study of cat movements, and augury, the study of bird formations. While augury appears to be more fixed than other systems of divination, with some sources going as far as to interpret the direction of the birds’ flight, calls, and times of day, individual animal totem or spirit animals also have rich symbolism, which can be accessed by tuning into the oversoul of the animal.

I asked Spirit, what do all those who frequent this page need to know this week to stay in alignment with the highest good? Then I went out for a walk and noticed a beaver-chewed tree trunk on the border of a roadside brook. Although there was no physical beaver in sight, my synchronistic draw of this same spirit animal from an oracle card identified itself as our weekly oracle.

According to Hay House author and oracle extraordinaire Colette Baron-Reid, Beaver Spirit reminds us of our power to (re)establish our sacred connection with universal consciousness so we can deliberately co-create the world we desire. At the same time it takes work, determination, and sustained effort to co-create and lay a solid foundation for our dreams. With Spirit as our manifesting partner, Beaver Spirit invites us to bring the metaphorical twigs and branches of our intentions and spread them across the river of time. If a beaver dam can change the direction of the flow of life, so can you! The strength of this co-creative partnership ensures that our world will be prosperous and ‘purpose-built,’ filled with love and joy, and rich with magic and meaning.

When Beaver Spirit is reversed in an oracle spread, however, Baron-Reid points out that there may be rotten wood in the foundations of your dreams. Did your lower self build its hopes around faulty promises and wishful thinking that something would work out just because you wanted it to? Perhaps you found yourself disillusioned by choices made from a place of lack or unworthiness, hoping that once you got what you desired everything would just fall into place.

Another interpretation of this oracle’s shadow side is that it may be time to accept things as they are, perhaps abandoning an old project, relationship, or situation to make room for something better. Perhaps you need to go back and rebuild a solid foundation because what you desire may no longer alignment with soul’s purpose. The good news is self-understanding and acceptance will provide you with a solid blueprint to build again. Beaver reminds us to get busy rebuilding now, mindful of the foundation we are laying, trusting that Spirit is co-creating with you!

INTERPRETATION

With the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse just four days away as the week begins, global energy is intensifying. Increasingly, we may be feeling the impulse to make empowering life decisions, yet not everyone around us is ready. According to Australian cosmologist Elizabeth Peru, if we remember to act from maturity and not fall back into old, reactive ways of thinking and being, then we’re well-placed to elevate in consciousness. “Pull your focus within [this week] and be honest with yourself,” the source advices with Beaver Spirit; “the cosmic energetics are assisting with personal authenticity. Think before you act!”

The Sun is also a key cosmic influencer as we start the week with two solar transits. The Scorpio Sun’s challenging square to Jupiter in Aquarius makes us vain, extravagant, wasteful, and willful. During this two-day influence, astrosofa.com forewarns of legal issues and conflicts with the law and superiors. “All week, you’ve been going within shining a light into your past,” observes Peru, who encourages us to conduct a healthy internal review. Meanwhile, the Sun’s favorable sextile with Pluto in Capricorn, starting Tuesday, November 16, donates strong vitality, energy, power, popularity, and the ability to achieve great things. Peru and Beaver Spirit empower us to use these influences to our advantage by continuing to purify our relationship with the past: “As you forgive yourself and others, you free yourself from any energy binds that you’ve accumulated… As you focus upon the present moment, you’ll discover where all your power exists.”

Starting just a day before the lunar eclipse on this same axis, on Wednesday, November 17, when Mars in Scorpio opposes Retrograding Uranus in Taurus, “extreme caution is essential because we are now prone to rebellion and pretentiousness.” Be on the lookout for mental tension and carelessness, which may produce tests of faith that challenge both our inner-strength and fragile energy systems. While aligned action works miracles, astrosofa.com and Beaver Spirits cautions against fateful altercations and accidents!

Meanwhile, the trine between Mercury in Scorpio and Retrograding Neptune in Pisces on Thursday, November 18 gives us a welcome pre-eclipse respite by activating our “subtle sense and keen intuition combined with affection for literature and poetry.” While the 24-36 hour lead-in to the Eclipse can be demanding to many, according to astrosofa.com our imagination becomes our friend if we work with the energy of this constellation. “You’ve been personally preparing for this moment of elevation and release for weeks now,” Peru and Beaver Spirit remind us. Rather than indulge in petty arguments or needless drama, set the intention to not overact to anything. “Instead see ‘all’ for the mantle of your soul.”

On Friday, November 19, at long last it's the Micro Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse in Taurus! Although there will be great viewing across North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa, the energetic effects of the eclipse will be felt everywhere. Initiating a new 18-year saros cycle of eclipses on the Taurus/Scorpio axis, Peru points out that the energy of this eclipse season was last felt in November 2003. While we’re presently working with the same potentials as we did then, we’re now operating from a higher level of awareness and evolution.

Astrobutterfly.com adds that the eclipse is also square Jupiter, asking us to set our priorities right, and trine Pluto, giving us the inner drive and determination to figure out what to do next. Sending waves of energetic force through our solar system, Jupiter “may make us eager to no longer hold in how you feel” explains Peru. Especially with the hard-aspected eclipse energies at play, it is vital to express ourselves with calmness today so as not to become overheated. “Instead focus upon expressing yourself as the abundant creator being that you are. Act on your good qualities... Move through this day expecting the best to come from you and it will come to you,” the source and Beaver Spirit emphasize.

To navigate this potential doozy-of-a-day, Peru reminds us that “the more you’ve worked on implementing your changes over that past two weeks, the easier the eclipse will be.” Fortunately, the romantic trine between Venus in Capricorn and Retrograding Uranus in Taurus on this same day, heightens our sensitivity to love and emotional life. We make contacts quickly, during this two-day influence and we can devote ourselves to amusements and material things. We have a passion for art and romance!

As we enter the weekend, the "Eclipse Doorway of Opportunity” is now open for two weeks in between eclipses. “Life intensifies. Situations shift!" says Peru, who describes the doorway as a “portal of accelerated life movement as you proceed through a 2-week period that will greatly advance your purpose and authentic life path.” In addition, two aspects form with Mercury in Scorpio. While Mercury's square to Jupiter in Aquarius Saturday, November 20 may help us shift our views, it also spells stubbornness, carelessness, haste, and unreliability. Meanwhile, Mercury’s favorable sextile with Pluto in Capricorn on Sunday, November 21, gives us new drive, quickness, diplomatic skills, eloquence and literary quality.

Also on Sunday, November 21, the Sun enters Sagittarius. Perhaps the most sought-after of astrological seasons, "this is when the US celebrates Thanksgiving, the holidays are near and we are filled with anticipation and hope for the future” asserts astrobutterfly.com. "When the sun sets in Sagittarius, it means that we are asking about the meaning of life, the purpose of the world in general,” adds astrosofa.com. While the world around us may appear to die as it becomes cold, gray, and monotonous as we near the winter solstice, this may rightly give us pause to reignite our inner spirit and survivor. Indeed, all manner of questions about higher education, law, philosophy, religion may come to life in us, including our sincere willingness to believe, as well as our lofty ideals. “[May we all] hold the eternal light against the darkness of the world, so that we can get through winter!” proclaim the source and Beaver Spirit.
